Get one from the pound that no one else wants. An ugly one. It will grow on you and you will be doing a good and self fulfilling thing.

You’re looking for an orange tabby basically, should be easy to find. They’re common at shelters, so adopting one would be a great option!

Yup – go to a shelter. If you have kids look for a laid back cat who will let you hold it on its back like a baby. My nieces dragged that poor cat around until they got larger and could hold it properly. It also let them dress it and would ride in their dolls carriage. It is also a 16 year old lap cat.
